RIPTA Recognized Nationally for Excellence in Financial Reporting and Budget Presentation

  December 10, 2025 Providence, Rhode Island - The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) has once again received the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its FY 2024 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, and the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its FY 2025-2030 Annual Financial Plan.

Route 72 is on detour until 4pm due to road construction. Inbound trips will travel regular route to Lonsdale Ave., turn right onto Higginson Ave., left onto Moshassuck Valley Industrial Highway and then right onto Weeden Street.

  December 4, 2025 The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) and Representative Thomas E. Noret will host “How to Ride RIPTA” community transportation events on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at two West Warwick Housing Authority locations. The events are designed to provide residents with information on public transit options, resources, and services available in the community.
