RIPTA Gets $22.37 Million Federal RAISE Grant to Electrify Aquidneck Island Bus Service

The days of diesel-powered buses rolling along Aquidneck Island streets are numbered, thanks to a new federal RAISE grant to procure 25 new clean-energy electric buses and recharging infrastructure.

RIPTA Service to Run Holiday Schedule In Observance Of Victory Day Monday, August 8, 2022

🗓️ July 26, 2022 - The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will run a Sunday/Holiday service schedule on Monday, August 8, 2022, in observance of Victory Day, an official state holiday. The Sunday/Holiday schedule will apply to all regular fixed-route buses and trolleys. All RIPTA offices, except for the Newport Transportation Center, will be closed on Monday, August 8

RIPTA Expands Flex Service to Manville

🗓️ June 27, 2022 - Improving Public Transportation Access to Hundreds of Residents The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) today announced the expansion of Flex Service 281 (Woonsocket/Manville) into Manville, Rhode Island. Passengers can travel within the local Flex Zone, which includes Woonsocket and Manville, in addition to connecting to RIPTA’s fixed-route, statewide service.
